Jolly Rotten Punk Puppet Busking in Poole Town Centre, Dorset

So there I was just moseying my way through Poole town centre on my lunch break when I bumped into busker Jolly Rotten the punk puppet!

This busker draws a crowd with his funny antics and gets a lot of laughs from the passing public.

It was fun to see the reactions from the adults and watching the kids enjoying getting up close and then running away screeching when the puppet moved towards them.

Friends have told me that he has also been spotted at Boomtown Fair as well as well as other locations around the UK.

Busking In Poole Dorset

His performance involves playing his flute, making gestures to passers-by and running after scared kids.

If you hadn’t guest already the person is sat inside the backpack.

He is such an interesting and creepy street performer and I wish we had more creativity like this on our streets.

Below are a few YouTube clips of busker / street entertainer Jolly Rotten Punk Puppet in the wild.

White Zombie Live: Full Concert Video – La Sexorcisto Tour (1993)

I have been a White Zombie fan for many years with the early 90’s era being my personal favourite so when I found the pro-shot full live video I knew I had to post it here. Scroll down to find the video or if you have randomly landed here and you don’t know who the band White Zombie as I encourage you to read more.

Watch White Zombie Perform Live back in 1993

The full concert video below was filmed August 10th 1993 – in Norwalk, Connecticut on the La Sexorcisto tour. Props to the person who took the time to upload it. If you like White Zombies music as much as me then I am sure you will get the same excitement I felt bubbling up when Rob starts doing his trademark zombie strutting around.

White Zombie (band)

In the early 90’s one of the hottest bands on the groove-heavy metal scene was White Zombie a four-piece with a signature style fronted and founded by writer, vocalist, and graphic artist Rob Zombie with Sean Yseult on bass, Jay Yuenger on guitar and Phil Buerstatte on drums. Phil Buerstatte sadly died in 2013.

Back in 1993, the band were touring on the back of the success of their critically acclaimed album La Sexorcisto: Devil Music, Vol. 1. The album featured 14 groove-heavy songs of electrifying biker metal, splashed with horror cinema samples and scream along choruses. The hit album spawned the all-time classic singles Thunder Kiss ’65 and Black Sunshine.

White Zombie La Sexorcisto

The band followed up La Sexorcisto with Astro-Creep: 2000 – Songs of Love, Destruction And Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head which reached 6th on the US Billboard 200. Astro-Creep: 2000 is White Zombie’s best-selling album, being certified Double Platinum by the RIAA and selling over 2,600,000 copies in America since its release in 1995. Hit singles from this album include “Electric Head Pt. 2 (The Ecstasy)”, “More Human Than Human” and “Super-Charger Heaven”.

The band split in 1998 with Rob Zombie launching a successful solo career winning a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance and later going on to establish a career as a film director, creating two of my favourite horror movies House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects.

Sabac Red Freestyle (Blowout)

This one minute ten second freestyle from Sabac Red / Non Phixion just leaves me craving for more. The track is on the Turntable Anihilists Presents: Verses Vs. Beats – Blowout album which can be found on Amazon.

Legendary Metal Gigs at the Weymouth Pavilion

I think I can be forgiven for saying I never thought I would see the likes of legendary metal bands such as Sepultura, Morbid Angel or Napalm Death in my sea side home town of Weymouth but that is exactly what has happened with both Sepultura and Morbid Angel headlining gigs at the Weymouth Pavilion and Napalm Death are booked for December. The guys at Hourglass Promotions are doing a really awesome job of breathing some life into the South Dorset music scene.

napalm-death-weymouthFirst up on my wish list was Sepultura on 29th June which sold out the venue and proved to be one of the greatest music events Weymouth has ever seen. The atmosphere was incredible and you could feel that the band and the fans knew this was a special gig. They blasted through hits such as Roots Bloody Roots, Refuse Resist and Ratamahata (see video below) and then showcased tracks from the new album Kairos. Two local bands Bull-Riff Stampede and another band that I did not see (if you know who they where let me know and I will update) provided the Support putting in energised sets that set the atmosphere for the evening. I totally recommend catching these bands live if you get the chance. You can see footage I took from the event below.
